Proposed Topic in the form of an  Essential Question:

If animal cruelty continues in society, will animals soon be scared of humans?

Rationale for Choice

What about this topic appeals to you? Why did you choose it?

As a child, I remember watching animal cruelty shows on television all the time. It really affected me and the way I view a human/animal relationship. I chose this topic because it interests me and I believe I will really enjoy research on animal cruelty. Also, I have rescued a couple stray animals myself and I can see the damage done to them from previous abuse.

What do you already know about this subject?

I know that animal cruelty is found pretty much everywhere. All animals can be abused, not just some. I also know that there are laws regarding animal abuse.

What are you hoping to learn about the subject?

I hope to learn more about ways to prevent animal cruelty. I also want to learn how people have the courage to hurt an innocent animal.

What are you most interested in regarding the topic?

I am most interested in the animals, themselves. Also, I am looking forward to the community service section of this project so I can spend some time hands on with different animals.

                                                                                                                                                

What potential risks or challenges do you foresee for your project?

There may be risks finding research or getting into a shelter for volunteer work.
